What does EE stand for on my phone?

4G Update.

This stands for everything everywhere and is the largest communications company to provide mobile and fixed internet to Orange and T-mobile customers in the UK. Its been put in place for the new 4G network or 4GEE. This little symbol (EE) in the corner of your phone instead of it saying Orange or T-mobile doesn't account to much at the moment though and chances are it won't.

To use 4G you will have to have a phone that is compatible with the new internet speeds, which EE are hoping to be 5 times faster than the current 3G that we all use today. EE will be investing £1.5 Billion in the next three years which kind of gives you the indication that it won't be available to everyone on release date, which by the way has not been given but hopes it will be released before this christmas.

If you already have one of these phones you may need to contact your service provider to also find out if your sim card is compatible to the 4G network, Even then your still not ready to go as the contract you are on probably doesn't support access to 4G. this will probably cost extra on your contract which a rumour through ofcom should be around the £10 mark.

So all in all at the moment EE doesn't mean anything its just a clever way for Orange/T-mobile to get the tongues wagging and stir things up a bit, a clever free advertising campagn  to 27 million users
